HOUSTON, TX (February 5, 2021) – Gilbert & Pardue LLC (“GaP”) acted as exclusive advisor to The Theut Company, LLC (“Theut”) of Columbus, TX in its sale to Denver Glass Interiors, Inc. (“DGI”) of Englewood, CO, a portfolio company of Baymark Partners. The transaction closed on December 31, 2020.
Theut, owned by brothers Rusty and Scott Theut, specializes in glazing systems for educational, municipal, religious, and other construction where an architectural focal point is derived from glass and metal aesthetics. The Company has been serving customers in the Houston/Austin/Corpus Christi triangle of Texas since 1986. Theut’s reputation for quality, safe practices, and “doing it right the first time” has resulted in their reputation of being among the “best of the best.”
With a focus on precision and innovative designs, DGI’s work is showcased in many of the finest hotels, offices, and homes in Colorado. DGI provides products and services for homeowners, contractors, designers, architects, restaurants, hotels, casinos, millwork, and glass companies. The Theut brothers challenged GaP to find a partner who would embrace their culture, be a great employer, and support their customers in the same world-class way they’ve delivered at Theut. “We were pleasantly surprised at the level of trust DGI has placed in our operations and ways of serving employees and customers alike,” said Scott Theut. Rusty Theut added, “We’re confident this union will allow the business we’ve built to thrive for many years to come.” Rusty and Scott will serve as President and Vice President, respectively, of DGI’s southern commercial division created by the Theut acquisition.
David Lehman, President of DGI stated, “Theut Glass has established a great name and reputation in the southern Texas glazing market, which is why we were so interested and excited about the opportunity of bringing them into our family. The acquisition of Theut will allow us to expand our customer reach into another region and allows us to expand our array of services in the commercial glazing industry. We’re very excited to welcome Theut to our family and look forward to a bright future.”
Matt Gilbert, Founding Partner of GaP remarked, “Having been the CEO of a glazing business myself, the challenge was personal to me to put together a deal that was good for Theut, the glazing community as a whole, the employees and vendors, and the general contractors in this region of Texas. The Theut brothers quietly built one of the best businesses we’ve had the honor to represent. I’m proud of the fit that my business partner, Bret Pardue, and I helped forge between DGI and Theut. It’s some of our best work!”
