Paul Mueller serves as Senior Advisor and Certified Business Coach for Gilbert & Pardue Business Advisors (GaP). His passion is working with Business Owners to align their organizations around clear Vision, Mission, and Value statements to achieve goals for their businesses, families, employees, and communities. As a Business Coach, Paul helps his clients Create the Future, Build Through Teamwork, and Deliver Results. He has demonstrated the ability to help Business Owners optimize their financial performance and valuation. Paul works with Business Owners to develop and communicate a robust strategic vision, identify metrics to measure progress, empower employees to innovate, and foster an environment of accountability. These efforts result in alignment of the organization around the businesses objectives and focus the organization on results.
Prior to launching his coaching practice, Mr. Mueller was a Senior Executive in the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense industries for over 30 years, holding CEO and P&L leadership positions since 2007. He has extensive expertise in building and implementing successful strategic and marketing plans which are focused on a business’s core competencies, aligned with customer needs, and deliver a high degree of customer satisfaction. Paul has a demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue and EBITDA expectations while containing operating costs and building a healthy culture.
Mr. Mueller’s last position before starting his Coaching practice was as CEO of AirTech, Inc., a commercial aviation operations and services business. AirTech was a $95M revenue sole-proprietor-owned business operating special mission surveillance aircraft in support of government missions. After the business was sold to a parent holding company, Paul was appointed CEO and charged with developing a Strategic Plan for growth and implementing robust and mature processes and practices in order to create a repeatable, sustainable business environment. Paul integrated AirTech into the parent company’s portfolio and developed a plan to retain AirTech’s current market position while leveraging its core competencies to diversify that market position to support long-term growth. Prior to AirTech, Paul served as the Vice President of Government Solutions at Bristow Group, where he created and implemented a new business diversification strategy, generating a $1.5B revenue pipeline.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mueller served as the Vice President for a $900M revenue division of Raytheon. He realigned and restructured the division, simultaneously reducing operating costs by 20% while increasing revenue by over 30% and operating margin by 40% in 24 months. Prior to Raytheon, Paul served as Vice President and General Manager of a Division of ITT Electronic Systems. In this position, he refocused and restructured the $65M revenue company – which was operating at a loss – and grew the business to $750M revenue with 30% operating margin, all in just 36 months.
Paul started his career as a U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Officer where he learned team building and leadership skills, a cornerstone of his success. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Paul also attended Chapman University pursuing his MBA and attended Executive Programs at Wharton and Harvard. He is a member of the Houston Chapter of the Texas Association of Business Brokers. In his free time, Paul enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
